The Assyrian strength arrived at and end with the Persian attack. After the Persians, the city of Anamur was controlled by the Macedonian Empire and the Seleucid tradition. It was later given to Commagene King Antiochos by Emperor Caligula amid the Roman control starting in the primary century B.C. It later changed hands ordinarily between the Byzantines and the Arabs. It was managed by the Seljuks in the ninth century and later by the Karamanoğlu Principality and the Ottomans. Crisscross formed city dividers were revealed in the uncovering. In the Upper City there is a theater, an odeon, a Roman shower with intriguing mosaics, a basilica and a road prompting to the lower city. The Necropolis is in the Lower City. The fortification, worked by the Romans in the third century A.D. was broadly revamped and modified by the Seldjuk Turks as a mosque, wellspring and a bath were added to the complex.
