As per Strabon, Side was established by the pioneers from Cyme, an Aeolian city toward the north of Izmir. ""Side"" implied pomegranate in the nearby lingo. As per the discoveries in the current unearthings, Side was under the govern of the Ptolemai tradition of Egypt in the third century B.C. After an interim of Syrian predominance, the city picked up freedom in 188 B.C. A hundred years after the fact, in 78 B.C. , Side was attached by the Galatians. The city was the scene for the Arab assaults and theft in the next hundreds of years and after the third century A.D. Side was no longer a dynamic business port. After you go through the door of the city, you touch base at a substantial territory enriched with level stones. This is the start of the two fundamental lanes. On either side of the avenues are the beautiful colonnades and stays of the shops behind them. The section capitals are Corinthian style. Opposite the door, you can see the tremendous momentous wellspring, the ''Nymphaion''. The square formed Agora is encompassed by colonnaded exhibitions and the shops were situated on the three sides. In the focal point of this region are the remaining parts of a sacred place committed to the city Goddess Tyche, the Queen of Fortune. The Theater alongside the Agora is very noteworthy and has an extraordinary perspective of the entire city. From here, you can see the remaining parts of the antiquated harbor, the sanctuaries and the grand street attacked by the contemporary town.
